A MOMENT THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING.

On December 6, 2010, my life changed forever. This movement honors that day and transforms pain into purpose.

On December 6, 2010, my life was changed in an instant. I was struck and run over by an Acura MDX. While no bones were broken, the accident left me with significant soft tissue injuries—torn knee ligaments, a shifting patella, a grade three ankle sprain, and ongoing complications, including a dislocated femur and chronic pain throughout my body.

The physical toll was only part of the story. When I sought justice, I was villainized by the system—police, judge, and jurors siding with the man who hit me and his defense. Instead of protection, I faced dismissal and dehumanization.

Out of that trauma, 12062010 was born. This movement is about transforming pain into purpose: honoring lives interrupted, reclaiming space for movement and breath, and building a community rooted in healing and justice.

THE mission:

At 12062010, our purpose is to transform pain into purpose and create space for healing, justice, and connection.

We are here to:

  • Honor every Black body whose run was cut short — remembering lives interrupted too soon.

  • Create space for collective healing through movement — where breath and body lead us back to ourselves.

  • Advocate for justice and safe spaces to thrive — challenging systems that silence, erase, or dismiss us.

  • Build community grounded in breath, resilience, and remembrance — because healing is not just individual, it’s collective.

tHE VISION:

To build a world where Black bodies are honored, empowered, and free—where movement is a pathway to healing, strength, and liberation. Through the 12062010 Race and The SNCTRY Gym, we envision a future where trauma is transformed into collective power, safe spaces are the norm, and every step forward is a step toward justice, wellness, and community resilience.

This movement is not only rooted in my own experience, but honors the memory of every Black body whose run was cut short.
We carry forward the names of every Black soul who never made it home.

“The future belongs to those who prepare for it today.”
